FreeCell
A strategic solitaire variant where all cards are dealt face-up. Use four free cells as temporary storage to sort cards by suit.
Objective
Move all 52 cards to the four foundation piles, building each suit from Ace up to King.
Setup
All 52 cards are dealt face-up into eight tableau columns. The first four columns receive seven cards each, and the last four receive six cards each. Above the tableau are four empty free cells (temporary storage) and four foundation piles.
How to Play
Tableau building: Stack cards on the tableau in descending order, alternating between red and black suits. For example, a red 6 can be placed on a black 7.
Free cells: You can temporarily place any single card into an empty free cell. Use them strategically to clear the way for moves.
Empty columns: Any card or valid sequence can be moved to an empty tableau column — not just Kings.
Foundation building: Move cards to the four foundation piles, one per suit, building up from Ace to King.
Moving sequences: You can move a properly ordered sequence of cards between tableau columns, as long as there are enough empty free cells and empty columns to theoretically perform the move one card at a time. The maximum number of cards you can move at once is (1 + empty free cells) x 2^(empty columns).
Winning
You win when all four foundation piles are complete — each containing 13 cards from Ace through King in a single suit.
Strategy Tips
Keep free cells open. Every occupied free cell reduces your ability to move sequences. Try to keep them empty or free them up quickly.
Plan several moves ahead. Since all cards are visible from the start, take time to plan your moves before acting. Look for chains of moves that accomplish a goal.
Empty columns are powerful. An empty column doubles your moving power. It acts like a super free cell that can hold entire sequences, not just single cards.
Build long sequences. Focus on building long descending sequences of alternating colors. This makes it easier to move large groups of cards at once.
Don't rush to the foundations. Sometimes it's better to leave lower cards in play if they're useful as building targets on the tableau.
Free Aces and Twos immediately. There's never a reason to leave Aces or Twos on the tableau. Move them to the foundations right away.
Use the undo button wisely. If a move doesn't improve your position, undo it and try a different approach.

Is the shuffle fair?
Yes. Every deal uses a deterministic pseudo-random shuffle based on a seed value. The same seed always produces the exact same deal. The algorithm is unbiased and gives every possible arrangement an equal chance.
Can I replay the same deal?
Absolutely. Every game has a seed shown below the game board. You can share a game by copying its URL — anyone who opens it gets the exact same deal.
What is the Daily Challenge?
Each day, every player gets the same deal based on the current date. It's a great way to compete with friends or test yourself against a consistent benchmark. Your daily streak tracks how many consecutive days you've completed the challenge.
Are all deals winnable?
Nearly all FreeCell deals are winnable — approximately 99.999% of deals can be solved with perfect play. If you get stuck, try using the hint button or undo to explore different strategies.
Is my data stored or shared?
No. All your stats, streaks, and preferences are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server. If you clear your browser data, your stats will be reset.
