Pyramid Solitaire
Remove pairs of cards that add up to 13 from a pyramid-shaped tableau. A quick, satisfying solitaire variant with simple math.
Objective
Remove all cards from the pyramid by pairing cards that add up to 13.
Setup
28 cards are dealt face-up in a pyramid of 7 rows (1 card in the top row, 7 in the bottom row). The remaining 24 cards form the stock pile.
How to Play
Pairing cards: Select two exposed cards whose ranks add up to 13 to remove them. Card values: A=1, 2-10=face value, J=11, Q=12, K=13.
Valid pairs: A+Q, 2+J, 3+10, 4+9, 5+8, 6+7. Kings are removed alone (they already equal 13).
Exposed cards: A pyramid card is exposed when both cards below it have been removed. Bottom row cards are always exposed.
Stock and waste: Click the stock pile to draw a card to the waste. The top waste card can be paired with any exposed pyramid card.
Winning
You win when all 28 pyramid cards have been removed.
Strategy Tips
Remove Kings immediately. Kings can always be removed since they equal 13 on their own. Never leave an exposed King sitting.
Focus on the top of the pyramid. Work from the bottom up, but keep your eye on uncovering cards higher in the pyramid. Removing upper cards opens up more options below.
Plan your pairs. Before pairing, check whether removing a specific card will expose something useful or block a needed card.
Manage the waste pile. The waste pile is last-in-first-out. Think about which cards you'll need before drawing from stock.
Don't rush through the stock. Each draw is permanent — you can't put cards back. Survey the pyramid for available pairs before drawing.
Use undo to explore. Try different pairing orders and drawing strategies. The order you remove pairs can make the difference between winning and losing.

Is the shuffle fair?
Yes. Every deal uses a deterministic pseudo-random shuffle based on a seed value. The same seed always produces the exact same deal.
Can I replay the same deal?
Yes. Every game has a seed shown below the game board. Share the URL to give someone the exact same deal.
What is the Daily Challenge?
Each day, every player gets the same deal. Complete it to build your daily streak.
What is the win rate for Pyramid Solitaire?
Standard Pyramid Solitaire is quite hard — only about 5% of deals are winnable. Don't be discouraged by losses; focus on clearing as much of the pyramid as you can.
Is my data stored or shared?
No. All stats and preferences are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server.
